Adani Green Energy announced a 24% increase in operational capacity to 20,763 MW for H1 FY27, bolstered by new greenfield projects and significant battery storage additions. The company's board is scheduled to convene on October 21, 2026, to approve its Q2 FY27 financial results.

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has reported a robust operational performance for the first half of the financial year 2027 (H1 FY27), with its shares drawing market attention following the provisional updates. The company's operational capacity surged by 24% year-on-year, reaching 20,763 megawatts (MW) by the end of the period.

This substantial growth was primarily driven by the addition of 4,083 MW of new greenfield capacity during H1 FY27, with 621 MW commissioned in the second quarter alone. Adani Green Energy also significantly expanded its battery energy storage system (BESS) infrastructure. During Q2 FY27, the company commissioned 3,081 megawatt-hours (MWh) of BESS capacity at Khavda, marking one of the world's largest single-location battery storage installations. This addition brought AGEL's total installed BESS capacity to 6,632 MWh by the close of H1 FY27.

Strong Energy Sales and Capacity Utilization

The company's energy sales saw a notable increase of 32% year-on-year, totaling 25,747 million units for the six months ending September 30, 2026. This rise is directly attributed to the expanded renewable energy generation capacity across its portfolio.

Adani Green Energy's solar portfolio achieved a capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 22.9% during H1 FY27, maintaining a high plant availability of 99.3%. The wind portfolio recorded a CUF of 42.9% with 94.6% plant availability. Demonstrating strong operational efficiency, the hybrid portfolio delivered an even higher CUF of 45.2%, supported by a plant availability of 98.8% for the period.
