Mundra Airport Connects Kutch to Major Indian Cities
Adani Mundra Airport has commenced scheduled commercial flight services, significantly enhancing connectivity for the Kutch region of Gujarat. In partnership with Star Air, the airport launched its inaugural flights on Tuesday, June 21, 2026, linking Mundra with key business and tourism hubs across India.
The new air routes are anticipated to drastically reduce travel times for businesses, traders, logistics operators, and tourists, effectively establishing an “express corridor” for the region.
New Routes and Airline Partner
Initially, Star Air will operate services connecting Mundra to Mumbai and Goa. The airline will further expand its network from Mundra to include Hindon, Surat, Belagavi, Bengaluru, Kolhapur, and Nanded, bringing the total number of connected destinations to eight. This expansion is a strategic move to integrate Kutch more closely with India's economic and cultural centers.
Impact on Regional Development and Trade
The launch of these flight services is expected to provide a substantial boost to Mundra, home to India's largest private port and a critical gateway for national and international trade. This development aligns with the Adani Group's overarching vision to transform Mundra into a fully integrated, multi-modal logistics and business hub, leveraging its existing port, airport, and special economic zone (SEZ) infrastructure.
By offering a crucial last-mile link, the new air connectivity will facilitate the large volumes of trade flowing through Mundra Port and the Mundra SEZ, thereby improving integration with domestic and global supply chains. Adani Group anticipates these synergies between its port and aviation businesses will be pivotal in driving future growth in trade, industry, and tourism throughout Kutch.
Modern Infrastructure and Strategic Vision
Mundra Airport boasts a 1,900-metre runway capable of accommodating various passenger and cargo aircraft. Its modern terminal is equipped with comprehensive facilities, including ample parking, multiple check-in counters, comfortable passenger lounges, and a food court. The facility also ensures accessibility with wheelchair access and dedicated passenger drop-off zones.
This initiative draws upon the Adani Group's extensive experience in operating major airports across India, including those in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru, and Guwahati, reinforcing its commitment to developing robust aviation infrastructure.
