Air India Elevates Business Class with New Fine-Dining Service on Long-Haul Routes

· · 2 min read

Air India has introduced a new restaurant-style fine-dining experience for Business Class passengers on select long-haul international flights. The upgraded service features multi-course meals, linen-covered tables, and bespoke tableware, initially rolling out on India-UK routes.

Air India has launched an enhanced fine-dining experience for its Business Class passengers on select long-haul and ultra-long-haul international flights. Announced on October 22, 2026, this premium offering aims to elevate the onboard dining experience, moving away from traditional tray-based meals to a sophisticated, restaurant-style service.

The new service debuted on flights connecting India with the United Kingdom, including routes to London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and Birmingham. Air India plans to progressively expand this upgraded dining across its fleet, encompassing Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, and Boeing 777-300 aircraft, to cover additional international destinations.

A Refined Culinary Journey at 35,000 Feet

Passengers in Business Class can now enjoy multi-course meals served on linen-covered tables, with each dish individually plated. The airline has introduced specially designed tableware as part of its 'Vista Verve' collection, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the meal service.

The Vista Verve collection includes dedicated plates for appetisers, main courses, snacks, desserts, and cheese, alongside signature glassware and espresso cups. A notable feature is the Martaban-inspired cruet set, which draws on traditional Indian jars, blending cultural heritage with contemporary design.

Part of a Broader Transformation

Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, stated, “The introduction of our fine dining-style, course-by-course meal service in Business Class is another step in our broader Air India transformation journey, creating a globally benchmarked premium travel experience while remaining rooted in the warmth and authenticity of Indian hospitality.”

This initiative is integral to Air India's wider efforts to improve its premium passenger offerings. These enhancements include refreshed food and beverage menus, an award-winning wine selection, and upgraded tea services. The dining improvements complement the airline's fleet modernisation program, which involves inducting new Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, as well as refurbishing existing cabins with upgraded interiors.
