Akash Narayan, the 24-year-old founder of the Bengaluru-based legal-tech startup Legalit, has achieved a significant personal milestone by purchasing his first apartment for ₹1.8 crore. Despite the individual triumph, Narayan emphasizes that this achievement is a collective victory, crediting his family, mentors, and dedicated team for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
A Dream Realized in Bengaluru
The newly acquired property is an under-construction flat located at Casagrand Vivacity near Electronic City, with possession slated for April 2027. This substantial investment comes as Narayan's company, Legalit, founded in 2023, has scaled impressively, reaching an annual gross revenue of ₹13 crore by providing practice management software for lawyers.
Reflecting on the purchase, Narayan shared the deep emotional context behind it, tracing his aspirations back to challenging early years. He described a period of a dysfunctional household where owning such a home felt like an 'ultimate dream'.
“At 24, I just bought my first apartment. Looking back, this milestone isn’t just mine. It belongs to my family, my mentors, my team, and the friends who kept me grounded through every step of the journey,” Narayan wrote in a social media post. “Every lesson, every late night, and every sacrifice brought me to this moment. Deeply grateful for where I am, and even more driven for where we are headed next. This is just the beginning.”
Narayan firmly believes that sharing the credit for his success is non-negotiable. He specifically acknowledged his mother for her daily motivation during times of uncertainty and his early team for taking a chance on an unproven product and an inexperienced founder.
From School Projects to Startup Success
Narayan's entrepreneurial spirit was evident long before Legalit. During his school days, he developed Android applications like VeBrowser and HowToTech, the latter being a platform designed to help senior citizens navigate technology, which even earned recognition from Infosys.
His professional background includes diverse experiences across technology, business development, and political consulting. He held roles at companies such as Nokia, Sphinx Tech, and NK Law Associates, and also undertook political assignments with I-PAC and the DMK. Beyond leading Legalit, Narayan is also an active investor in the startup Ayen, continuing his engagement with the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
