BHEL, Vedanta, IDBI Bank: Analyst Recommends Key Trading Levels & Outlook

· · 3 min read

YES Securities analyst Vaishnavi Laxmikant Shukla provides buy/sell recommendations, target prices, and stop losses for BHEL, Vedanta, and IDBI Bank amidst recent market volatility.

Indian equity markets experienced profit booking on Wednesday ahead of crucial US inflation data, with muted sentiment driven by elevated crude oil prices, a weakening rupee, and rising bond yields. Despite the broader market dips, select buzzing stocks like Vedanta, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), and IDBI Bank Ltd are under close scrutiny by traders.

Vaishnavi Laxmikant Shukla, Technical Equities Research Analyst at YES Securities, has provided detailed technical analysis and trading recommendations for these three prominent stocks for the upcoming trading session.

IDBI Bank: Bullish Outlook

IDBI Bank Ltd has demonstrated a strong bullish trend, breaking convincingly above its 200-day Simple Moving Average (SMA). This previous resistance level has now transformed into a supportive platform, signaling potential for further gains. The stock is currently trading robustly across all key moving averages, reinforcing the positive sentiment. Analysts suggest the uptrend is likely to continue, with a target price set near Rs 98. Traders are advised to consider buying on pullbacks toward the Rs 87-88 range, maintaining a stop loss under Rs 83 to ensure an attractive risk-reward setup.

Vedanta: Bearish Sentiment

Vedanta Ltd is exhibiting a bearish sentiment following a breakdown from its rising trendline on the weekly chart. The stock is trading below both its 20-day and 200-day SMAs, coupled with consistently lower daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) readings. The formation of lower highs and lower lows on the daily chart indicates a continuation of weakness. Recoveries in Vedanta shares should be viewed as selling opportunities, with a target price of Rs 233 and a recommended stop loss at Rs 260.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL): Resilience Amidst Weakness

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has shown significant resilience, finding strong support near its 20-day SMA. This suggests that recent short-term weakness was effectively absorbed at lower price levels. BHEL is now trading above a cluster of its key moving averages, indicating an improvement in its overall trend structure. However, given a recent appreciation of nearly 5% from its immediate lows, traders are cautioned against chasing the rally. Instead, it is advisable to wait for a meaningful pullback to secure a favorable risk-reward entry. A buy recommendation is given for BHEL in the Rs 454-456 range on dips, with a stop loss at Rs 440 and a target price of Rs 485.
