Deepa Jewellers, a prominent business-to-business (B2B) jewellery firm, experienced a robust entry into the stock market on Tuesday, September 8. The company's shares commenced trading on the BSE at Rs 221.05, marking a significant 24.89 percent premium above its initial public offering (IPO) issue price of Rs 177. Similarly, on the NSE, the stock concluded its inaugural trading session at Rs 221, reflecting a 24.86 percent premium.

This impressive listing surpassed market expectations, with pre-debut grey market premiums having suggested gains of around 14 percent. Investors who were allotted shares in the IPO reaped a profit of approximately Rs 3,700 for each lot.

IPO Details and Strong Subscription

The initial public offering for Deepa Jewellers was open for subscription between September 1 and September 3, with shares offered in a price band of Rs 168-177 apiece. The company successfully raised Rs 460 crore through the IPO, which saw an overwhelming overall subscription of 42.61 times. This attracted nearly 19.75 lakh applications, amounting to bids worth close to Rs 14,000 crore.

  • Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs): This segment demonstrated exceptional demand, subscribing 105.96 times.
  • Qualified Institutional Bidders (QIBs): These institutional investors subscribed more than 37.01 times.
  • Retail Investors: The portion reserved for individual retail investors was subscribed 18.55 times.
