The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a revised service update, confirming that entry and exit points at 45 metro stations across the national capital will be closed from 9 PM on October 9 until 6 PM on October 10, 2026. The restrictions are being implemented for security reasons, with authorities advising commuters to plan their journeys accordingly.
This announcement serves as a partial modification to an earlier advisory regarding metro station closures. DMRC stated that these restrictions would remain in place until further notice from security agencies, with the situation to be reviewed and updates shared as necessary.
Interchange Facilities Remain Operational
Crucially, interchange facilities will continue to be available at all affected metro stations, with the sole exception of the New Delhi metro station. Passengers needing to transfer between lines can still do so at other designated interchange points, but will not be able to enter or exit the station premises at the listed locations.
Commuters are strongly advised to check official DMRC announcements before traveling, especially if their route involves central Delhi or other areas impacted by these restrictions. The metro authority emphasized that security agencies would assess the situation and provide further guidance as required.
