Gold Price Forecast: Rs 1.5 Lakh/10 Grams Amid US Inflation & Fed Cues

· · 2 min read

Gold prices show recovery signs, with analysts forecasting a potential rise to ₹1.50 lakh per 10 grams. This outlook hinges on upcoming US inflation data, Federal Reserve interest rate decisions, and ongoing geopolitical developments.

As of October 14, 2026, gold prices are showing signs of recovery, with market analysts closely watching key economic indicators and global events to determine the metal's next significant move. Current projections suggest a potential surge, with some experts eyeing a target of ₹1.50 lakh per 10 grams in the domestic market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures were trading at ₹1,48,482 per 10 grams, up 0.02%. Internationally, gold futures stood at $4,186.57 per ounce, marking a 0.22% increase. Meanwhile, MCX Silver futures gained 0.06% to ₹2,19,357 per kilogram, with international silver at $59.463 per ounce.

US Inflation Data and Federal Reserve Policy in Focus

The primary drivers for gold's trajectory remain US inflation data and the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. Investors are keenly awaiting the latest consumer inflation report for signals regarding potential interest rate adjustments.

Amit Gupta, Senior Research Head at Kedia Advisory, noted that gold's recent recovery stemmed from investors anticipating US consumer inflation data to gauge the Federal Reserve's next steps. New York Fed President John Williams recently suggested that another interest rate hike might be necessary this year to curb inflation. Conversely, Fed Governor Christopher Waller indicated that rising bond yields reflect robust economic growth rather than escalating inflation expectations.

Market expectations currently place a 23% chance of an October rate hike and an 88% probability of a December increase, reflecting the dynamic sentiment surrounding the Fed's decisions. These figures represent market-implied probabilities, not confirmed policy outcomes.

Geopolitical Developments and Safe-Haven Demand

Beyond economic data, escalating tensions in the Middle East are also playing a significant role. Such geopolitical instability typically boosts demand for gold as a traditional safe-haven asset, providing a floor for prices amidst global uncertainty. This factor continues to support both oil prices and the appeal of precious metals.

Key Technical Levels to Monitor

From a technical perspective, specific price levels are crucial for traders and investors. According to Kedia Advisory's analysis:

  • International Gold: A sustained position above $4,150 per ounce could see gold testing the $4,200 per ounce mark.
  • Domestic MCX Gold: The target for MCX Gold is set at ₹1,50,000 per 10 grams.
  • International Silver: A key support level is identified at $58.20 per ounce, with a potential target of $61 per ounce.
  • Domestic MCX Silver: Silver could advance towards ₹2,24,000 per kilogram.

These levels are market outlook estimates and should not be considered guaranteed price outcomes. Future movements will largely depend on the interplay of US inflation data, the Federal Reserve's interest rate path, and ongoing geopolitical developments.
