· · 2 min read

Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd., parent of Groww, reported a 54% YoY rise in Q2 FY27 profit after tax to ₹725 crore. Revenue climbed 44% to ₹1,541 crore, driven by user growth and increased market share across all segments.

Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd., the parent company behind the popular stockbroking platform Groww, has announced a significant surge in its financial performance for the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2027. The company reported a 53.93 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase in profit after tax (PAT), reaching ₹725 crore, up from ₹471 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26.

Alongside robust profit growth, Groww's revenue also saw a substantial rise, climbing 43.88 percent YoY to ₹1,541 crore in Q2 FY27, compared to ₹1,071 crore in the previous fiscal year's second quarter. These impressive figures underscore the platform's expanding reach and growing market presence.

Key Growth Drivers and Market Share Expansion

Groww's strong quarterly results were fueled by an increase in its total transacting users, which hit 2.4 crore. Concurrently, total customer assets under management grew 46 percent YoY to an impressive ₹3.9 lakh crore. The company also reported an expansion of its market share across all four key product segments:

  • Mutual Funds: Market share increased to 14.8 percent from 13.1 percent a year earlier.
  • Stocks: Market share rose to 15.4 percent from 12.9 percent.
  • Derivatives: Market share improved to 11 percent from 8.6 percent.
  • Margin Trading Facility (MTF): Market share grew to 2.7 percent from 1.6 percent.

Turnover and Inflow Highlights

The quarter also saw significant growth in trading volumes and investment inflows. Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) inflows surged by 27.48 percent YoY, reaching ₹14,347 crore in Q2 FY27, up from ₹11,254 crore in the year-ago quarter. Stock average daily turnover (ADTO) increased by 42.46 percent to ₹14,430 crore, while derivatives turnover grew 28.70 percent to ₹12,322 crore. Margin Trading Facility (MTF) turnover experienced a remarkable 160.85 percent YoY increase, reaching ₹4,351 crore.

Revenue Mix and Asset Management Growth

While equity derivatives remained a significant contributor, accounting for 44.8 percent of Groww's Q2 FY27 revenue, this was a decrease from 56.9 percent in the prior year. This shift indicates diversification, with commodity derivatives' contribution rising sharply to 6.2 percent from 0.2 percent, and MTF's share increasing to 10.1 percent from 7.4 percent. Other operating income also grew to 4.8 percent of revenue.

Groww Asset Management Company (AMC) demonstrated exceptional growth, with its assets under management (AUM) soaring 145 percent YoY to ₹7,179 crore in Q2 FY27, compared to ₹2,928 crore in Q2 FY26.

Following the announcement of these robust earnings, Groww shares reacted positively, climbing 1.37 percent to trade at ₹196.45.
