Indian travelers can now receive a 10% discount, capped at AED 100, when paying via UPI at Dubai Duty Free. This new offer, launched by NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), aims to enhance the shopping experience for visitors.

Indian travelers visiting Dubai can now enjoy a significant saving at Dubai Duty Free outlets. NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) has announced an exclusive offer providing a 10% discount, capped at AED 100 (approximately ₹2,200), for purchases made using India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

How to Avail the UPI Discount

To benefit from this offer, travelers must first activate the UPI International or UPI Global service for an eligible bank account through their respective UPI-enabled application. Once activated, payments can be made directly from their Indian bank accounts at participating Dubai Duty Free terminals.

The discount applies to eligible purchases across various categories, including fashion, beauty, electronics, confectionery, beverages, watches, and jewelry, available at Dubai Duty Free locations within both Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport.

Enhancing Cross-Border Payments

This initiative is designed to make overseas payments more familiar and convenient for Indian visitors, while simultaneously expanding UPI's acceptance across major retail hubs in the United Arab Emirates. Network International is serving as the acquiring partner, facilitating UPI acceptance and processing transactions at these terminals.

Ritesh Shukla, Managing Director and CEO of NIPL, emphasized the goal of making cross-border payments as straightforward as domestic transactions. “Through exclusive offers at Dubai Duty Free, we are making every purchase more rewarding by pairing the simplicity of secure, real-time UPI payments with valuable benefits for shoppers,” he stated.

Murat Cagri Suzer, Group CEO of Network International, highlighted the partnership as a crucial step in strengthening the payment ecosystem for Indian travelers in the UAE, providing a secure and familiar payment method. Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, acknowledged the importance of Indian travelers to the retailer's customer base, praising UPI's integration for offering a seamless and secure payment experience.

Strengthening India-UAE Digital Connectivity

The promotion is expected to add substantial value to airport shopping experiences and further embed UPI's presence across key retail touchpoints throughout the UAE. NIPL views this collaboration as a testament to the growing digital payment connectivity between India and the UAE, fostering stronger economic ties and convenience for travelers.

Travelers interested in the offer are encouraged to review the detailed terms and conditions available on NIPL’s official website for complete information.
