· · 3 min read

India's primary market is bracing for a significant surge, with nearly a dozen IPOs projected to raise Rs 50,000 crore before Diwali 2026. Jio Platforms, Avaada Electro, and Carlsberg India are expected to lead this fundraising wave.

Mumbai, India – India's Initial Public Offering (IPO) market is poised for a substantial boom, with approximately Rs 50,000 crore expected to be raised through nearly a dozen major issues before the Diwali festival in 2026. This surge follows a robust September quarter, which saw 34 IPOs cumulatively raising Rs 39,380 crore.

Major Players Driving the Fundraising Wave

Leading the charge in this pre-Diwali fundraising spree is Jio Platforms, projected to raise a massive Rs 31,000-32,000 crore. Its IPO is reportedly scheduled for Wednesday, October 21. Close behind, Avaada Electro is anticipated to launch its Rs 7,600 crore IPO in the latter half of October. Additionally, Carlsberg India is set to enter the market with an IPO aiming for Rs 6,500 crore, having received regulatory approval from SEBI on October 1.

Other Significant IPOs Expected

Beyond these giants, several other companies are preparing to tap the primary market:

  • HD Fire Systems and Fusion Systems have announced IPOs opening on October 13 and October 14, respectively, together targeting Rs 1,414 crore.
  • Sahajanand Medical Technologies and Zetwerk Manufacturing Business are expected to announce their price bands soon, collectively aiming to raise nearly Rs 5,500 crore.
  • Other notable issues include Bonfiglioli Transmissions (approx. Rs 2,500 crore), Paras Healthcare (Rs 1,800 crore), Gujarat Victory Forgings (Rs 250 crore), and NDR InvIT Trust (Rs 750 crore).
  • Tonbo Imaging's IPO, comprising an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 1.81 crore equity shares, is also on the horizon.
  • Further issues anticipated before Diwali include Torrent Gas (Rs 4,000 crore), Bombay Coated and Special Steels (Rs 191 crore), and SFC Environmental Technologies (a fresh issue of Rs 150 crore plus an OFS).

Positive Market Sentiment Amidst Volatility

Despite prevailing geopolitical uncertainties and broader market volatility, the sentiment in the primary market remains overwhelmingly positive. Recent IPOs have consistently delivered favorable returns, keeping investors engaged.

Zerodha founder and CEO Nithin Kamath remarked, "IPOs are a full-on party. Most recent listings have done well, and you can see it in the rush of activity."

The India IPO market has shown remarkable resilience, with 67.2% of mainboard listings over the past year trading above their issue prices as of October 6, 2026. This strong performance builds on previous months, with July seeing 13 IPOs raise Rs 28,650 crore and August witnessing 23 IPOs raise Rs 22,450 crore.

Analysts from Monarch AIF note that "bottom-up investment opportunities remain attractive in quality smallcap companies over the next 12-24 months, supported by resilient corporate balance sheets, healthy domestic demand, improving cash flows and sustained capital expenditure intentions." They see emerging value in sectors such as BFSI, insurance, telecom, and parts of the IT sector.
