India's net direct tax collections surged by 13.21% year-on-year, reaching ₹13.37 lakh crore by October 14, 2026. This robust growth reflects steady economic activity across corporate and non-corporate sectors despite a rise in tax refunds.

India has recorded a significant boost in its fiscal health, with net direct tax collections for the financial year 2026-27 soaring to ₹13,37,866.98 crore by October 14. This marks a substantial 13.21% year-on-year increase, according to official data released by the government.

The strong performance in tax revenue underscores persistent economic activity, driven by robust growth across both corporate and non-corporate segments. This positive trend was observed even as tax refunds saw a notable uptick during the same period.
