According to bulk deal data released by the NSE, Nippon India Equity Opportunities AIF acquired 1.5 million shares of Iris Clothings on August 10. The shares were bought at an average price of Rs 55 apiece, valuing the total transaction at Rs 8.25 crore.
Market Reaction and Performance
Following the news of the investment, Iris Clothings shares climbed 6% to hit a high of Rs 57.71 on the NSE. This pushed the company's market capitalization to Rs 1074 crore. The stock is currently trading above its 10-day, 20-day, 30-day, 50-day, 100-day, 150-day, and 200-day simple moving averages, indicating strong upward momentum. Its Relative Strength Index (RSI) of 87 suggests the stock is currently in an overbought territory.
Shareholding and Financials
As of the end of the June quarter, promoters held a majority 61.2% stake in Iris Clothings. Public shareholders accounted for the remaining 38.1%. Among public shareholders, over 70 retail investors, each with investments exceeding Rs 2 lakh, collectively held a 20% stake. Smaller investors, with holdings up to Rs 2 lakh, held a 6% stake in Q1 FY27.
The company also reported robust financial results for Q1. Net profit for the quarter rose by 52.47% to Rs 4.01 crore, up from Rs 2.63 crore in the previous quarter ended June 2025. Sales also saw a significant increase, climbing 26.31% to Rs 47.24 crore, compared to Rs 37.40 crore in the prior quarter.
