Jio Platforms Limited's highly anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO), scheduled for October 21, is set to generate significant value for its prominent non-promoter shareholders. Technology behemoths like Meta Platforms and Google, along with major sovereign wealth funds such as the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and The Public Investment Fund (PIF), stand to see their stakes valued at a staggering Rs 3.18 lakh crore.
India's Largest IPO Without OFS
The Jio Platforms IPO, aiming to raise Rs 30,213 crore, is unique in its scale and structure. It is poised to become India's largest public issue in terms of size, yet it notably lacks an Offer For Sale (OFS) component. This distinguishes it from previous mega IPOs in the Indian market, such as those by Hyundai Motor India Ltd and Life Insurance Corporation of India Ltd.
