· · 2 min read

Lumax Auto Technologies stock surged 20% to a record high on Tuesday after the company reported an 83% year-on-year rise in Q1 FY27 net profit to Rs 99 crore. Revenue also climbed 33% to Rs 1,364 crore, driven by premiumization and operational efficiencies.

Shares of Lumax Auto Technologies Ltd. soared 20% in Tuesday's trading, reaching a new record high following the announcement of robust first-quarter results for fiscal year 2027. The automotive components manufacturer reported an impressive 83% year-on-year surge in net profit before minority interest, reaching Rs 99 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 54 crore in the same period last year.

Q1 FY27 Performance Highlights

The company's revenue for Q1 FY27 jumped 33% year-on-year, climbing to Rs 1,364 crore from Rs 1,026 crore previously. This significant growth was attributed to a strategic scale-up across core product categories, increased wallet share with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and value enhancement driven by vehicle premiumization trends.

Operational efficiencies, cost optimization, and a favorable product mix contributed to a 51% year-on-year increase in EBITDA, which stood at Rs 205 crore. Consequently, the EBITDA margin expanded to 15.1% for the quarter, up from 13.2% in the prior year.

Factors Driving Growth and Future Outlook

Lumax Auto Technologies highlighted "technologically-led operational excellence" alongside improved asset turns and utilization rates as key drivers for its boosted bottom line. The stock's recent rally has seen it climb 110% from its 52-week low of Rs 991, recorded approximately a year ago.

"The automotive industry has delivered a strong start to FY27, with production witnessing healthy growth of 22 per cent YoY with all major vehicle segments reporting good traction," said Anmol Jain, Managing Director at Lumax Auto Technologies. He further noted that the ongoing premiumization of vehicles, rising adoption of advanced technologies, and increasing content per vehicle continue to create significant opportunities for auto component manufacturers, supporting both volume and value growth.

Mr. Jain emphasized Lumax's commitment to innovation and product development to stay ahead of industry trends. "We are committed to strengthening our wallet share with existing customers, expanding our presence across new vehicle platforms, adding new customers across geographies and further enhance our product portfolio," he stated, outlining strategic initiatives aimed at sustaining growth and creating long-term value for stakeholders.
