Molbio Diagnostics, a Goa-based developer of point-of-care diagnostic solutions, is set to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on August 10. The public issue, valued at Rs 930.7 crore at the upper end of the price band, will offer shares within a price range of Rs 768 to Rs 807 per equity share.
Key IPO Dates and Price Details
The subscription window for the Molbio Diagnostics IPO will open on August 10 and close on August 12, 2026. For anchor investors, the book will open earlier, on August 7. Investors interested in participating can bid for a minimum of 18 equity shares, and in multiples thereof.
The total issue size of Rs 930.7 crore comprises a fresh issue of shares worth Rs 200 crore and an Offer For Sale (OFS) of 91.66 lakh equity shares by existing shareholders. This includes shares being sold by promoters Exxora Trading and Dr Chandrasekhar Bhaskaran Nair, alongside investor India Business Excellence Fund, and seven other shareholders.
Following the IPO, the promoters' stake in Molbio Diagnostics will see a dilution from its current 46.65 per cent. The remaining 53.35 per cent of the company is held by various investors, including V Sciences Investments (backed by Temasek Holdings) and Motilal Oswal Group's India Business Excellence Fund.
Company Profile and Financial Performance
Molbio Diagnostics is recognized for its flagship Truenat platform, a rapid molecular testing system patented in over 100 countries. This PCR-based platform enables decentralized diagnostic results within an hour, making it particularly effective in resource-constrained environments. It facilitates testing for a range of diseases, including tuberculosis, Covid-19, Hepatitis B and C, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
Financially, Molbio Diagnostics reported robust growth in the fiscal year 2026. The company's net profit increased by 14.8 per cent to Rs 166.6 crore, while its revenue surged by 41.7 per cent, reaching Rs 1,445.7 crore.
Utilization of IPO Proceeds
The proceeds from the fresh issue component of the IPO are earmarked for several strategic initiatives:
- Approximately Rs 105.5 crore will be invested in establishing a new research and development (R&D) facility and a Centre of Excellence through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Bigtec, along with bolstering office infrastructure.
- Another Rs 72.2 crore is allocated for the purchase of plant, machinery, and equipment to enhance its manufacturing facilities located in Goa and Visakhapatnam.
- The remaining funds will be utilized for general corporate purposes.
Listing and Lead Managers
The basis of allotment for the Molbio Diagnostics IPO is anticipated to be finalized on August 13. The company's shares are expected to commence trading on the stock exchanges on August 17. Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, IIFL Capital Services, and Jefferies India are serving as the book-running lead managers for this issue.
Notably, the Molbio Diagnostics IPO is one of two mainboard public issues scheduled to open on August 10, alongside the significantly larger Rs 3,067 crore Dhoot Transmission public issue.
