Truth Social Offers Premium API for Faster Trump Posts
Truth Social, the social media platform founded by former US President Donald Trump, has reportedly initiated a premium service offering financial firms accelerated access to his online posts. The service, known as Truth API, provides subscribers with a critical 50-millisecond head start in receiving Trump's statements, which can significantly influence financial markets.
According to reports, major players in the financial sector, including Bloomberg, Susquehanna International Group, and Jump Trading, have signed up for this exclusive access. The monthly fee for the service can range from $60,000 to $100,000 (approximately ₹56.88 lakh to ₹94.8 lakh).
Why Speed Matters: High-Frequency Trading and Market Impact
The importance of this fractional time advantage stems from the nature of high-frequency trading (HFT). HFT firms utilize sophisticated computer programs and algorithms to process news, company announcements, and political statements, executing trades within milliseconds. Donald Trump's past statements on global conflicts, trade policies, and international relations have frequently triggered swift movements in asset prices, making timely information invaluable.
For example, market reactions to Trump's announcements regarding the Iran war, including a ceasefire in April 2026 and later denials of easing sanctions, demonstrated how his words directly impacted oil futures. Receiving such posts even milliseconds before others can provide a significant edge, allowing firms to react faster to market developments.
Trump Media's Defense and Financial Context
Trump Media and Technology Group, the operator of Truth Social, publicly announced the faster-access service in July 2026, specifically targeting trading firms and other financial institutions. The company defends the Truth API service as an "industry-standard API product" with substantial demand across various sectors. They also emphasize their commitment to customer confidentiality, dismissing reports based on anonymous sources as misleading and aimed at harming the company.
This new revenue stream comes as Trump Media faces considerable financial challenges. The company's shares have plummeted over 50% in 2026, reducing its market valuation from an initial $8 billion in March 2024 to approximately $1.8 billion. Furthermore, Trump Media has reported losses totaling around $1.76 billion since 2024, including non-cash charges.
