Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has set social media ablaze with the unveiling of a fierce new poster for his upcoming action thriller, King. The visual, shared by Khan himself, offers a glimpse into his "brutal yet romantic" avatar, intensifying anticipation for the film's Christmas Eve 2026 release.
A Glimpse into SRK's Dual Persona
The striking poster features a rugged Shah Rukh Khan, sporting short, greying hair and a beard, dressed in a dark, dirt-stained outfit. He is depicted emerging from a fiery backdrop, handgun in one hand, while a thorny red rose is clamped dramatically between his teeth. This unique "guns and roses" styling quickly captivated fans, highlighting a powerful blend of action-ready menace and classic romantic charm.
"Qaatil Nahi... Aashiq Hoon"
Khan's accompanying caption for the poster, "Aaj phir yaad aaya… Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon… #KING In cinemas 24.12.26," translates to "Today I remembered again... I am not a killer, I am a lover." This line has resonated deeply with his fanbase, with many interpreting it as a nostalgic nod to his iconic romantic-hero roles, particularly his 1999 film Baadshah, while simultaneously introducing a grittier, action-oriented persona.
Christmas Eve Release and Star-Studded Cast
King is officially slated to hit cinemas on December 24, 2026, positioning it as a major holiday theatrical event. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, known for his high-octane action thrillers. While official confirmations are awaited, reports suggest a stellar ensemble cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan, including Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rani Mukerji.
Fan Reactions Ignite Social Media
Following the poster's release, social media platforms were flooded with enthusiastic reactions. Fans lauded Khan's silver-haired, bearded look and the poster's fiery aesthetic, calling it one of his most "massy" and intense reveals in recent years. Comments ranged from praising the "brutal character" hinted at by the caption to declaring the film a "biggest Tsunami" in the making, underscoring the immense buzz surrounding King.
