CMF, the sub-brand of tech innovator Nothing, has officially entered the portable audio market with its inaugural speakers: the CMF Speaker M and Speaker S. These new devices distinguish themselves with an unconventional, rectangular design reminiscent of milk cartons, setting them apart from traditional portable speakers.
Shared Features and Connectivity
Despite their size differences, both the CMF Speaker M and Speaker S share several core functionalities. Users can expect up to 18 hours of audio playback on a single charge, robust Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, and an IP68 rating for impressive dust and water resistance. Both models also support USB-C audio playback and an Auracast-based Party Mode, enabling seamless connection with other compatible speakers for a synchronized audio experience.
Advanced connectivity options include stereo pairing with two identical speakers, dual-device connections, NFC for quick pairing, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair. Audio latency via USB-C is kept below 60ms. Customization is available through the Nothing X app, offering EQ presets, custom EQ settings, Ultra Bass mode, and Night Mode.
CMF Speaker M: Power and Presence
The larger CMF Speaker M is engineered for more powerful sound, featuring a dual-driver system. It includes a 70mm woofer rated at 25W and a 16mm tweeter rated at 10W, delivering a combined RMS output of 35W. Its frequency response spans from 60Hz to 20kHz. Measuring 220 x 85 x 54mm and weighing 602g, it includes a built-in handle and removable panels. Powering the Speaker M is a 4,900mAh battery, providing up to 18 hours of AAC playback at 50% volume with Ultra Bass activated. A quick 10-minute charge offers an hour of playback, while a full charge takes approximately three hours. Color options include Turquoise, Dark Grey, White, and Orange.
CMF Speaker S: Compact and Convenient
For users prioritizing portability, the CMF Speaker S offers a more compact solution. It utilizes a 45mm full-range driver complemented by two passive radiators, delivering a 10W RMS output. The frequency response ranges from 70Hz to 20kHz. This smaller unit measures 130.5 x 85 x 44mm and weighs a mere 334g, making it highly portable with its integrated carabiner hook. Like its larger counterpart, it features removable panels and is available in Turquoise, Dark Grey, White, and Orange. The Speaker S is equipped with a 2,600mAh battery, also rated for up to 18 hours of playback under specified conditions. It charges fully in 2.5 hours, with a 10-minute charge yielding an hour of listening time.

The CMF Speaker S is priced at $59 (approximately ₹5,600), while the CMF Speaker M retails for $109 (roughly ₹10,400).
