Dell has officially introduced its new 14S laptop to the Indian market, targeting students, office professionals, and everyday users seeking a balance of battery life, portability, and performance. The device is now available with a starting price of ₹79,990.
Design and Portability
The Dell 14S emphasizes a lightweight and slim design, weighing just 1.15kg and measuring 13.5mm in thickness. Its aluminum chassis comes in four distinct colors: Linen, Dusty Rose, Washed Denim, and Velvet Green. Dell highlights the laptop's 750ED PNCM battery cell, engineered for cooler operation under load and improved capacity retention over time. The company claims an impressive battery life of up to 21 hours for Netflix streaming, though actual usage will vary.
Performance and AI Capabilities
Under the hood, the Dell 14S offers a choice between Intel Core 5 and Core 7 Series 3 processors. Both configurations include a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) capable of up to 17 TOPS, enabling efficient execution of AI tasks directly on the device. Users can configure the laptop with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage.
Display and Audio
The 14-inch display is available in two options to suit different needs. The premium variant boasts a 2.8K resolution with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and up to 450 nits of brightness. An alternative option provides a 2K resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 300 nits brightness. Both displays feature a modern 16:10 aspect ratio and are complemented by Dolby Atmos audio technology for an immersive sound experience.
Connectivity and Security
For communication and connectivity, the Dell 14S is equipped with a 1080p webcam, far-field dual-array microphones, and two 2W stereo speakers. It supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. Physical ports include two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports (with DisplayPort and power delivery), an HDMI port, and a universal audio jack. Security features include Windows Hello and Microsoft Pluton. The laptop also meets environmental standards with ENERGY STAR 9.0 rating and EPEAT Silver registration with Climate+.
