Shajeer Venga, a 34-year-old Indian national residing in Abu Dhabi, has secured a life-changing AED 2 million (approximately Rs 5.15 crore) in the recent 'Millionaire' campaign draw organized by Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB). Venga, who opened his savings account with the bank via its digital app less than two months ago, expressed profound gratitude, stating the prize would help secure his future and enable him to bring his family from India to live with him in the UAE.
A Dream Realized Through Savings
Venga shared with local media that winning the draw was a long-held aspiration, having learned about the bank's campaign and hoping to participate one day. His sudden win has transformed this hope into reality, providing a significant financial boost for his personal and family goals.
Nabil Abou Alwan, Head of Retail Banking at Sharjah Islamic Bank, congratulated Venga and highlighted the bank's commitment to helping customers achieve their financial aspirations. He noted that the 'Millionaire' campaign plays a crucial role in creating meaningful opportunities for customers to build a brighter future.
Sharjah Islamic Bank's 'Millionaire' Campaign
Launched in 2025, SIB's 'Millionaire' campaign is a savings-linked rewards program designed to encourage customers to foster a habit of wealth building through eligible deposit accounts. The initiative offers over AED 20 million in annual prizes, providing substantial incentives for customers to save.
Participants receive one entry into the regular draws for every AED 10,000 deposited in their savings account. The campaign features various grand prizes, including luxury vehicles and cash rewards. In the same draw that saw Venga win AED 2 million, an Emirati national named Moza Butti also received a luxury BMW XM, alongside 40 other individuals who won various cash prizes.
Upcoming Opportunities
Sharjah Islamic Bank confirmed that the next draw will feature two grand prizes of AED 1 million each. One of these will be exclusively reserved for UAE nationals, while the other will be open to participants of all nationalities, continuing the campaign's mission to reward savers across the region.
