ASM Technologies shares surged to a record high on Wednesday after its board approved a ₹526 crore preferential share allotment. The funding round includes investments from RK Damani's Derive Trading and Resorts and prominent investor Asha Mukul Agrawal.

Shares of ASM Technologies Ltd. reached an all-time high on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, following the company's announcement of a significant preferential share allotment. The global engineering services and technology solutions provider saw its stock hit an intraday high of ₹6990 on the BSE, marking a 10.2% increase before closing 3% higher at ₹6521.

Major Investors Fuel Expansion

The company's board approved the preferential issuance of up to 10.78 lakh equity shares, each with a face value of ₹10, at a price of ₹4,875 per share. This strategic fundraising effort is set to raise a total of ₹525.99 crore and has attracted support from several key investors, including entities associated with prominent figures in the Indian stock market.

Key Participants in the Funding Round:

  • SBI Mutual Fund: Through various schemes, will hold 5.25% of the new allotment.
  • SBI Emergent India Fund: A scheme of SBI Alternate Equity Fund, securing 0.65%.
  • Derive Trading and Resorts Pvt. Ltd.: An entity linked to renowned investor Radhakishan Damani, promoter of Avenue Supermarts Ltd., also taking a 0.65% stake.
  • Asha Mukul Agrawal: The well-known investor will acquire 0.33% in this round. Her husband, ace investor Mukul Agrawal, already holds a substantial 10.28% stake in ASM Technologies.

Market Reaction and Performance

The news of the funding round, backed by such influential investors, significantly boosted investor confidence, leading to the sharp rally in ASM Technologies' stock. The company has demonstrated strong performance, with its shares gaining approximately 35% over the past month and delivering an impressive 104% return year-to-date. At the close of trading, ASM Technologies commanded a market capitalization of ₹9512 crore.

As of the June quarter, promoter entities held 57.65% of the company, with public shareholders owning the remaining 42.35%. This fresh infusion of capital is expected to support the company's growth initiatives and further solidify its position in the engineering services and technology solutions sector.
