Gold and silver prices in India remained largely stable on September 21, 2026. While futures saw minor gains, retail rates varied slightly across major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, influenced by local market conditions.

Gold and silver prices across India showed broad stability on September 21, 2026, with minor upward movements in futures trading. Despite an overall steady trend, retail prices for both precious metals displayed regional variations, influenced by factors such as local demand and procurement costs.

Futures Market Performance

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures saw a modest increase of 0.84%, reaching ₹1,54,263 per 10 grams. Silver futures also posted a slight gain, up by 0.16% to trade at approximately ₹2,42,000 per kilogram.

Retail Gold Rates Across India

Nationally, 24-carat gold was priced at around ₹1,54,970 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold, commonly preferred for jewelry due to its durability, also held steady. Retail prices varied by city:

Silver Prices on September 21

Silver prices remained consistent across several major Indian cities, with rates generally holding at ₹2,41,060 per kilogram. This rate was observed in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

Leading Jewellers' Rates

Major jewellery retailers also reported stable prices. For 22-carat gold, Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds both quoted ₹14,285 per gram, while Tanishq's rate was ₹14,330 per gram. For 24-carat gold, Malabar Gold & Diamonds offered ₹15,584 per gram, and Tanishq's rate stood at ₹15,633 per gram.

Several key factors influence gold and silver prices in India. These include global bullion market trends, the exchange rate between the US Dollar and the Indian Rupee, and domestic demand, which often sees an uptick ahead of the festive season.
