· · 2 min read

The box office sees a major clash as 'Hanuman Ansh' targets ₹400 crore globally. Meanwhile, 'Mirzapur: The Movie' delivers a surprising performance, captivating audiences and challenging the mythological spectacle. Both films show strong runs.

A significant box office confrontation is unfolding as two highly anticipated films, 'Hanuman Ansh' and 'Mirzapur: The Movie', vie for audience attention and revenue. While 'Hanuman Ansh', a devotional drama, sets its sights on an ambitious ₹400 crore worldwide collection, the crime drama 'Mirzapur: The Movie' has emerged as a surprising contender, demonstrating remarkable staying power at ticket counters.

'Hanuman Ansh' Continues Strong Run

The mythological epic 'Hanuman Ansh' has maintained its impressive trajectory since its modest domestic opening of ₹10 lakh. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports the film is now nearing its ₹400 crore worldwide target, having already accumulated ₹366.45 crore globally. Its domestic net collection stands at ₹280.93 crore, translating to a gross of ₹331.70 crore within India. The film has also garnered ₹34.75 crore from overseas markets.

The film's performance saw a miraculous surge after its initial weeks. After earning ₹1.08 crore in its first week and ₹40 lakh in its second, 'Hanuman Ansh' dramatically rose to ₹10.40 crore in its third week. This momentum continued, with ₹61 crore in its fourth week, ₹90.25 crore in its fifth, and ₹80.25 crore in its sixth week. Its seventh week also proved robust, adding significant figures before reaching its current totals.

Notably, 'Hanuman Ansh' has been hailed as the most profitable Bollywood film of 2026, boasting an astounding return on investment exceeding 15,000%.

'Mirzapur: The Movie' Delivers "Bhaukaal" at Box Office

Defying expectations, 'Mirzapur: The Movie', starring Pankaj Tripathi and Ravi Kishan, has brought its signature "bhaukaal" (aura of dominance) from the streaming screen to the big screen. The crime drama is eyeing a ₹350 crore worldwide collection, having already reached ₹319.79 crore globally.

Its domestic performance has been particularly strong, with an India net collection of ₹219.70 crore and a gross of ₹261.50 crore. The film secured ₹148.45 crore in its opening week alone, followed by ₹55 crore in its second week. Its third week saw consistent collections, further cementing its position as a major box office draw, alongside an overseas earning of ₹58.25 crore.

The Unexpected Box Office Dynamics

This box office clash highlights intriguing audience preferences. While 'Hanuman Ansh' leverages mythological grandeur and mass appeal, 'Mirzapur: The Movie' capitalizes on a deeply loyal fanbase from its cult web series origins. Trade analysts are closely watching as these two distinct cinematic experiences continue their impressive runs, proving that diverse content can thrive simultaneously in the competitive theatrical landscape.
