Off-White, the influential luxury-streetwear label founded by the late Virgil Abloh, has officially opened its second flagship store in India. Located at DLF Promenade in New Delhi, the launch strategically precedes India's festive season, a period known for a significant increase in discretionary spending and luxury purchases.
This new Delhi boutique follows Off-White's initial debut in Bengaluru and will be operated by Sparsh India Couture Private Limited, the brand's franchise partner for North India, in collaboration with Brand Concepts Ltd.
Targeting India's Evolving Consumer Base
Chandni Agarwal, Founder & CMD of Sparsh India Couture Private Limited, highlighted the strategic timing. "That was the idea—to do it during the festive season or just before the festive season, when people are looking to redo their wardrobes and be ready for the festive season," Agarwal stated. She added that younger consumers, particularly Gen Z, are increasingly integrating contemporary fashion into traditional celebrations, seeking to blend 'cool' pieces with festive wear.
The store offers a carefully selected range of apparel, footwear, accessories, and lifestyle products, embodying Off-White's distinct fusion of street culture, luxury, and innovative design for Delhi's premium retail market.
The India Opportunity for Global Luxury
Agarwal emphasized that the current Indian market presents an opportune moment for international luxury brands. She noted that consumers are now more globally aware and familiar with such brands compared to a decade ago. "The customer is now more familiar with the brands. Earlier, it used to be an effort because we had to educate the customer about the brand, and then the sales used to start. But now the customer is well travelled, and the normal income is way above what it was 10 years back," she explained.
For Off-White, this expansion in India also represents an opportunity to re-establish its brand narrative for a new audience. "I think it’s an opportunity to recreate the story and to start all over again. So I would take it as an opportunity rather than a challenge," Agarwal commented.
Strategic Expansion in Key Markets
New Delhi consistently ranks among India's most influential luxury markets. The new store is expected to cater to both established luxury buyers and a new generation of shoppers seeking globally recognized fashion with a strong cultural identity.
Abhinav Kumar, Co-Founder of Brand Concepts Limited, affirmed that the Delhi flagship is a crucial step in Off-White's long-term growth strategy within India. "As one of the country's most influential luxury fashion markets, Delhi provides the ideal platform to strengthen the brand's presence and engage with a discerning consumer base," Kumar said.
This festive-season launch signifies more than just retail expansion; it's a strategic move by Off-White to become an integral part of how a new generation of Indian consumers celebrates and expresses their style.
