Patanjali Group, led by Baba Ramdev, has entered the UPSC coaching sector with its new Civil Services Academy in Haridwar. Noted educator Awadh Ojha will head the two-year residential program.

Patanjali Enters Civil Services Coaching

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has announced the establishment of the Patanjali Civil Services Academy, marking the Patanjali Group's foray into the highly competitive Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) coaching market. The new academy will operate from the Patanjali Yogpeeth campus in Haridwar and will be led by renowned civil service educator and former AAP leader, Awadh Ojha.

The academy's primary goal is to prepare students for both the UPSC Civil Service Examination and various State Public Service Commission examinations. It will offer a comprehensive two-year residential program, integrating academic rigor with value-based education.

Leadership and Vision

Announcing the initiative, Baba Ramdev emphasized that the academy aims to combine traditional academic preparation with strong ethical values. He lauded Awadh Ojha's experience, noting that Ojha has trained lakhs of aspirants, with over 1,000 of his former students reportedly becoming IAS and IPS officers.

“At Patanjali Yog Peeth, the Patanjali Civil Service Academy is being launched,” Ramdev stated during the event.

The program's fee structure includes a reduced rate of less than ₹1 lakh for students pursuing postgraduate studies at Patanjali, while external candidates will be charged approximately ₹2.5 lakh. The residential program encompasses coaching, hostel facilities, meditation sessions, and personality development training. Registration for the entrance examination is open until July 14. Ramdev also highlighted the academy's broader objective to produce capable administrators who will make their families and the nation proud, offering scholarships ranging from 80 to 100 percent for meritorious candidates.

Educator Awadh Ojha's Role

Awadh Ojha, widely recognized for his history classes and civil services mentoring, expressed confidence in the academy's ability to provide quality education in a supportive environment. Ojha has a significant online following and previously contested the 2025 Delhi Assembly election on an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ticket.

“Your children will be in a very positive environment here,” Ojha assured parents and aspirants. “There will be no compromise on the standard of education.”

He further confirmed that experienced faculty members from Delhi's leading coaching institutions would be brought to the Haridwar campus to teach students, ensuring a high standard of instruction.

Broader Objectives

Ramdev articulated the academy’s commitment to providing a clear direction for students, particularly those who might feel lost after unsuccessful attempts at civil services examinations elsewhere. He expressed strong confidence that graduates from the Patanjali Academy would significantly contribute to the nation's administrative landscape.
