Jaishankar and his wife, during its ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the New Delhi Assembly constituency. The initiative aims to update and verify voter registrations across the capital.
Prominent Figures Receive Discrepancy Notices
Among the VVIPs receiving notices are Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Praveen Sood and his family members, as well as former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife. The wife and son of CPM MP John Britas also received notices, each for distinct reasons.
'Unmapped' Category for Key Officials
EAM S. Jaishankar and his wife, Kyoko S. Jaishankar, have been categorized as "unmapped with last SIR." This designation indicates that their current electoral records could not be successfully linked to the rolls compiled during the previous revision exercise, conducted in 2002. Both are registered voters within the Sunder Bagh electoral part of the New Delhi Assembly constituency.
CBI Director Praveen Sood, his wife Vanita Sood, and his mother Kamlesh Sood were also served notices under the same "unmapped" category. Similarly, former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and his wife, Sunita Dwivedi, received notices for identical discrepancies in their voter registration, all within the New Delhi Assembly constituency.
Other Discrepancies Identified
The notices issued to the family of CPM MP John Britas highlighted different types of discrepancies. His wife, Sheba Britas, was flagged for a "self-name mismatch," suggesting an inconsistency in her registered name. Their son, Anand Britas, received a notice concerning a "parent-name mismatch," which may have been triggered by the discrepancy identified in his mother's electoral record. Both Sheba and Anand Britas are registered voters in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.
