Shares of PC Jeweller Ltd. experienced a significant decline on Monday, plummeting over 4% following an announcement that India's market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), had issued administrative warning letters to two of its senior officials.
SEBI's Action Against PC Jeweller Officials
The warning letters were specifically addressed to Shri Balram Garg, the company's Promoter & Managing Director, and Shri Vijay Panwar, the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer. The regulatory action stems from their failure to maintain a structured digital database concerning an unpublished price sensitive information (UPSI) related to a business update for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.
PC Jeweller stated that while the structured digital database was not maintained for the aforementioned business update, the trading window for designated persons and their immediate relatives was closed from July 1, 2025, until August 3, 2025, covering the period around the declaration of results for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.
