Reliance Retail reported ₹3.7 lakh crore revenue and surpassed 20,000 stores in FY26, a significant 11.8% growth. At the 2026 AGM, Mukesh and Isha Ambani detailed plans for manufacturing-led expansion and consumer brands.

Reliance Retail, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, announced a robust performance for the fiscal year 2026, with its revenue climbing to ₹3.7 lakh crore. The company also reached a significant milestone, expanding its store network to over 20,000 locations across India.

Strategic Growth and Expansion

At the 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries in 2026, Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Director Isha Ambani outlined the future trajectory for the retail arm. They emphasized a new phase of growth driven by a manufacturing-led expansion strategy and a stronger focus on consumer brands. Mukesh Ambani highlighted the unprecedented scale achieved by Reliance Retail, noting that no other retailer in Asia has reached 20,000 stores in such a short span, marking 20 years since its inception.

Manufacturing-Led Platform and Consumer Brands

The company is gearing up for closer integration with Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. (RCPL), developing a manufacturing-led growth platform. This strategy will encompass various categories, from beverages and daily essentials to fresh fruits and vegetables. The initiative aims to enhance hygiene standards, minimize wastage, and improve food safety throughout the supply chain, particularly in the often-fragmented fresh produce sector.

Financial Highlights of FY26

Isha Ambani provided detailed insights into Reliance Retail's financial achievements:

  • Gross Revenue: Increased by 11.8% year-on-year to ₹3,70,026 crore.
  • Profit After Tax: Rose by 12% to ₹13,838 crore.
  • EBITDA: Stood at ₹27,033 crore.
  • Customer Base: Expanded by 11% to 387 million registered customers.

These figures underscore sustained customer growth and continued scaling across various retail formats.

Digital Commerce and Fashion Platforms Thrive

JioMart, Reliance Retail's quick commerce platform, is experiencing rapid growth, becoming a daily habit for Indian consumers. It now operates through more than 3,100 stores, serving over 1,200 cities and 5,100-plus pincodes. This expansion significantly bolsters Reliance Retail's omnichannel presence and last-mile delivery capabilities.

In the fashion segment, AJIO has seen remarkable growth, expanding seven-fold over the past five years. Its average bill value surged by 23%, average selling prices increased by 17%, and product offerings reached 3 million, up 22% year-on-year. AJIO Rush, the four-hour delivery service, now covers more than 600 towns. Additionally, Shein has surpassed 11 million app installs, consistently adding 1,000 new styles daily.

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. (RCPL) Performance

RCPL reported a gross revenue of ₹22,000 crore in FY26, effectively doubling its revenue from the previous year. Isha Ambani remarked on this rapid achievement, noting that RCPL products are now available in over 40 countries through exports and franchise sales. Campa, a key RCPL brand, recorded gross sales exceeding ₹4,700 crore during FY26, positioning it as India's fourth-largest carbonated soft-drinks brand with double-digit market share in crucial markets.

With its vast store network, expanding digital footprint, and a renewed strategic focus on manufacturing, Reliance Retail is well-positioned for continued dominance and expansion within India's dynamic consumer market.
