IIM Bangalore is set to launch a dedicated undergraduate campus, thanks to a significant philanthropic commitment from Tata Trusts. This landmark grant will support the development of the new campus, enhance research capabilities, and foster globally benchmarked multidisciplinary programs, marking a pivotal expansion for the renowned institution beyond its established postgraduate and executive offerings.
New Undergraduate Programs Launching Soon
The new School of Undergraduate Studies will commence operations in August, introducing two distinct four-year residential Bachelor of Science (Honours) programs. Students can choose between a BSc (Hons) in Economics with a minor in Data Science, or a BSc (Hons) in Data Science with a minor in Economics. The inaugural batch will accommodate 80 students, with 40 seats allocated to each program.
Located approximately 27 kilometers from IIM Bangalore's main campus, the new facility is designed to provide world-class infrastructure and academic excellence. The curriculum is meticulously crafted to integrate economics, data science, and business studies, preparing students for the demands of increasingly data-driven and technology-intensive markets.
Grant to Boost Facilities and Research
The substantial grant from Tata Trusts will facilitate the creation of state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities. It will also enable the establishment of crucial research clusters focused on cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, algorithmic design, Indian Knowledge Systems, and applied business learning. Furthermore, the funding will support the recruitment of diverse and highly qualified faculty members.
Leadership Voices on the Partnership
