Apple has announced a notable adjustment to its trade-in program, raising the value for a wide range of devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. This update, which applies exclusively to the US market, sees some eligible devices now worth almost 30% more when traded in compared to previous estimates.
Increased iPhone Trade-In Values
Many iPhone models are now commanding higher trade-in sums. For instance, the iPhone 16 Pro Max's maximum trade-in value has climbed from $695 to $720, a $25 increase. The iPhone 16 Pro also saw a significant jump, from $560 to $630. This increase isn't limited to the latest models; older devices, including the iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, iPhone XS, and even the iPhone 8, are also benefiting from the revised valuations.
Macs and iPads See Higher Returns
The updated trade-in values extend to Apple's computer and tablet lines as well. A MacBook Pro can now be traded in for up to $855, an increase from its previous $690. Similarly, the MacBook Air's value has risen from $520 to $580. Other Mac models, such as the iMac, iMac Pro, Mac mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, have also received similar positive adjustments. For iPads, the iPad Pro's trade value increased to $720 from $690, the standard iPad to $260 from $235, and the iPad mini to $300 from $265. The iPad Air, however, saw a slight decrease from $490 to $460.
Expanded Android Trade-In Options
In addition to its own ecosystem, Apple has also enhanced its trade-in program for select Android devices. Certain Samsung models, including the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G and older versions, have seen their trade-in values increase by up to $5. Eligible Google phones now include the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and older models down to the Pixel 7 series. Furthermore, Apple has expanded its list of accepted Android devices to include the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R, offering more options for users looking to switch or upgrade.
