Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, affirmed on Sunday that ISRO's role in India's space program remains undiminished. He stated ISRO will continue to be the foundational pillar of the nation's burgeoning space sector, countering recent media narratives.

Pawan Goenka, the Chairman of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), moved to dispel recent speculation regarding the future of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). On Sunday, Goenka unequivocally stated that ISRO's pivotal role in India's ambitious space program is "by no means diminishing" and will remain central to the nation's progress in space.

Addressing what he termed "misleading narrative in the media" concerning ISRO's evolving functions, Goenka utilized a post on X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the agency's enduring importance. He emphasized, "It will remain the bedrock of Indian space sector," reinforcing ISRO's foundational status amidst the growing involvement of private enterprises.

This clarification underscores the government's vision for a collaborative space ecosystem where IN-SPACe facilitates private sector participation, while ISRO continues to lead in strategic missions, research, and development. Goenka's statement aims to reassure stakeholders and the public about the sustained prominence and critical contributions of ISRO as India expands its footprint in the global space arena.
