Bajaj Finance Shares Surge 47% from Lows; Analysts Eye Further Gains After Strong Q1

· · 2 min read

Bajaj Finance shares have surged 47% from their 52-week low, reaching a record high of Rs 1,177.60 by early August 2026. This rally follows robust Q1 earnings and an ambitious target to grow its loan book to Rs 6.5 lakh crore by March 2027.

Bajaj Finance shares have demonstrated a significant upward trend, climbing 47% from their 52-week low of Rs 788.40 recorded on March 23, 2026. The non-banking financial company (NBFC) stock reached a new peak of Rs 1,177.60 on August 3, 2026, driven by strong financial performance and positive investor sentiment.

The surge is primarily attributed to impressive Q4 and Q1 earnings in 2026, coupled with an improvement in asset quality. Following these results, the management announced an aggressive target to expand its consolidated loan book to Rs 6.5 lakh crore by March 2027, further bolstering confidence in the large-cap stock.

Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

For the first quarter of the current fiscal year (Q1 FY27), Bajaj Finance reported a substantial 27% increase in net profit, reaching Rs 5,985.75 crore, up from Rs 4,699 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Net interest income (NII) also saw a healthy rise of 23% year-on-year, totaling Rs 12,571 crore compared to Rs 10,228 crore previously.

Assets under Management (AUM) grew by 24% to Rs 546,944 crore as of June 30, 2026, from Rs 441,450 crore a year prior. The company added Rs 36,969 crore to its AUM in Q1 FY27 alone, reflecting strong business expansion.

Technical Outlook and Analyst Projections

Despite the significant rally, Bajaj Finance shares were trading largely flat at Rs 1154.40 in the current session on August 5, 2026, with the firm's market capitalization reaching Rs 7.18 lakh crore. Technical indicators suggest the stock is currently in an overbought zone, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering around 75.

However, analysts maintain a bullish outlook. Hitesh Tailor, Technical Research Analyst at Choice Broking, noted that Bajaj Finance exhibits a "robust bullish structure" after confirming a Rounding Formation breakout, indicating a continuation of its uptrend. He highlighted the stock trading comfortably above its key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), reflecting "exceptional trend strength." Tailor identified a crucial Fibonacci Extension resistance near Rs 1,176 (Rs 1,236 extension), which could act as an immediate hurdle. A decisive breakout above the Rs 1,176–Rs 1,280 resistance band could extend the rally towards Rs 1,260–1,300 in the medium term, with strong support around Rs 1,100.

Virat Jagad, Senior Technical Research Analyst at Bonanza Portfolio, echoed this sentiment, stating that Bajaj Finance has delivered a "decisive breakout" above the Rs 1,090 resistance zone. He believes the bullish structure will remain intact as long as the stock holds above Rs 1,090, with an immediate price target of Rs 1,250 and a potential extension to Rs 1,300 over the coming weeks if recent highs are surpassed.
