Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament, Nishikant Dubey, has initiated legal action against former Union Finance Secretary, Subhash Garg, by serving him a defamation notice. The notice stems from alleged defamatory remarks made by Garg in his book and during subsequent media interviews, which Dubey claims are false and damaging to his reputation.
Allegations of Misleading Statements
According to the defamation notice, MP Dubey asserts that Subhash Garg's statements contained misleading and malicious information regarding parliamentary proceedings and economic policy. Specifically, Dubey has taken strong exception to Garg's comments concerning the Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance (FRDI) Bill and the functioning of parliamentary committees, particularly the Standing Committee on Finance.
