Shares of Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), a prominent Tata Group entity, reached a new 52-week high on Thursday, trading at Rs 816. This surge contributed to the company's market capitalization crossing the significant Rs 1.15 lakh crore mark. The stock's current momentum reflects a substantial 43% gain from its 52-week low of Rs 565.25.
Multibagger Returns and Analyst Confidence
IHCL has delivered impressive returns to investors, clocking multibagger gains of 116% over the past three years and an even more remarkable 325% over five years. This sustained growth has led several brokerage firms to maintain a bullish outlook on the stock.
Elara Capital has upgraded its rating on IHCL to 'Buy' from 'Accumulate', setting a revised target price of Rs 922. The brokerage cited increased revenue and EBITDA estimates for FY27E, FY28E, and FY29E as key factors for its optimistic forecast.
MOSL also reiterated its 'Buy' rating with a target price of Rs 870. The firm anticipates strong momentum to persist, driven by a robust room addition pipeline across owned and managed properties, strategic acquisitions, favorable demand-supply dynamics in the hospitality sector, and a significant increase in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) activities across India.
Similarly, Axis Securities has issued a 'Buy' recommendation with a target price of Rs 900. The brokerage highlighted management's confidence for H2FY27, underpinned by a strong domestic consumption cycle, a packed schedule of corporate and MICE events, and plans for 30 new hotel openings. Axis Securities noted that IHCL's full-year revenue growth guidance has been upgraded to 15-17%, factoring in ongoing average room rate (ARR) expansion and market share gains in top-tier cities.
Technical Indicators and Future Outlook
While the Indian Hotels stock trades near the overbought zone with its Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 68.4 (an RSI above 70 typically signals an overbought condition), analysts remain confident about its medium to long-term prospects. The diversified revenue streams and rapidly expanding select-service portfolio are expected to drive sustained double-digit earnings growth and strong cash generation for the company, despite some pressure on its TajSats airline catering business due to global disruptions.
