The Election Commission of India (ECI) has embraced a popular culture icon, Spider-Man, to deliver a crucial message to eligible voters across the nation. In a campaign launched on August 6, 2026, the ECI's Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative used the superhero's iconic adage, "With great power comes great responsibility," to underscore the importance of civic participation.
The 'With Great Power' Campaign
The ECI's message, shared through a Spider-Man-themed post, reminds citizens that while the right to vote is a powerful democratic tool, it also carries the responsibility of ensuring one's electoral records are current. The campaign urges individuals to register as voters, verify their names on the electoral roll, or update their personal details online ahead of upcoming elections.
